About Travis Paul Akins

Platinum Meridian is the consulting practice of Travis Paul Akins, and the judgment it sells is his: two decades of enterprise SRE, event management and observability practice, compounded.

Roughly twenty years inside large-enterprise operations, the last stretch as a Staff Site Reliability Engineer at The Walt Disney Company, working at the scale where alert noise stops being an annoyance and becomes an economic problem. The career-long thread: event management and observability across multi-source estates, grounded in ITIL, practised through every generation of tooling from the OpsBridge era to today’s AI-attended pipelines.

The tools changed every five years. The judgment compounded. Organisations are excellent at creating signals and poor at deciding which ones deserve a human, and AI-assisted engineering is widening that gap at record speed. The calibration to govern it comes from the suppressed alert that mattered, the correlation rule that lied, the migration that looked finished for five months.

Why a B.V. in Amsterdam: Platinum Meridian is built as a delivery partner, not an agency. It is a Netherlands-registered entity designed to plug cleanly into European and UK consultancies and global vendors, invoice-to-invoice, under their client relationships.

On automation

AI can steer. Someone still has to navigate.

Ships have long carried self-steering gear that holds a course with no one at the helm. It is excellent at what it does and blind to the rocks. The credible position on AI in operations is not distance from it, but fluency in exactly where it excels and where it flatters. This site was itself built AI-first, directed by the same judgment the practice sells.
