Who is responsible

Platinum Meridian B.V. (KvK 42129496), Groen van Prinstererstraat 106H, 1051 ER Amsterdam, is the controller for the personal data described here. Contact: travis@platinum-meridian.com.

The public self-assessment

The self-assessment at /north-star/assess runs in your browser. Your answers are kept in this browser tab while it is open, so a reload doesn’t lose them. Nothing is sent to us unless you press “Share my anonymous result”: then only your answers and your score are sent, with no name, email, company or IP address, and stored in the EU. The basis for storing a shared result is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given by pressing the button; because the result is anonymous, it cannot be linked back to you afterwards.

Anonymous counts on the North Star guide

When you tap “We struggle with this” or “We’ve solved this”, open a directive, or move through the guide’s passage, the site sends an anonymous event. We keep only daily totals per directive and per step, by language: no cookies, no visitor identifier, no IP address, nothing that identifies you. They are stored in the EU in Platinum Meridian’s Cloudflare account. We use them to learn which parts of the guide matter to visitors (our legitimate interest, GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

The Signal Assessment intake

If Travis sends you an invite, the intake collects your name, work email, company, your answers, facts about your monitoring estate and, where you give them, your own metrics. For each directive it also collects your scores on technical maturity and business value, the evidence you give, and anything you write in your own words. Please do not paste passwords, tokens or other people’s personal data into those fields. We use them to prepare a Signal Assessment you asked for. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR article 6(1)(b)).

Where it is stored

Intake submissions are stored in the EU in Platinum Meridian’s Cloudflare account (Cloudflare, Inc. is our processor; transfers, if any, are covered by Cloudflare’s data processing addendum and the EU standard contractual clauses) and can be read only by Travis, behind Cloudflare Access. When you submit, Travis receives an email naming your company and the invite it came from, with a link; that email is delivered to Travis’s mailbox at his email provider. Your answers are not sent by email.

How long we keep it

Kept while we explore or carry out an engagement with you, and deleted when no longer needed for that, or sooner on request. We review stored intakes at least once a year. Anonymous counts and shared self-assessment results contain nothing that identifies you; we keep them while the North Star guide is published and review them at least once a year.

The live demo

If the demo’s live run is open and you use it, the work email and company you enter are used only to follow up on that demo, and are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no tracking cookies and uses no third-party analytics. The North Star guide counts anonymous events as described above. Booking a call may load Calendly, which applies its own privacy policy. The home page and the North Star guide remember in your browser whether you have already seen their opening animation; nothing is sent to us.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by emailing travis@platinum-meridian.com. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
